RED VELVET CAKE

This Red Velvet Cake visualization marks one of the early experimental milestones for NEX Project as we began exploring the intricate world of food and beverage rendering. Our focus was on mastering the organic textures that make gourmet products so appealing, specifically capturing the contrast between the porous sponge of the cake and the high gloss finish of the dripping berry glaze. By playing with vibrant monochromatic backgrounds, we learned how to isolate the subject to create a powerful visual impact that stimulates the appetite and draws the eye directly to the craftsmanship of the product.

Working on this project allowed our team to refine the skills necessary for simulating complex materials that are often difficult to replicate in a digital environment. We paid close attention to the way light interacts with the translucent layers of the syrup and the subtle crumbly details of the cake to ensure every element looks fresh and indulgent.
