Beyond the Surface:
We wanted to see how a simple object of daily life could be elevated through the lens of minimalism. By focusing on the soft, organic curves of the soap, we explored the intersection between functional product design and sculptural art. The goal wasn’t just to render a product, but to capture a moment of stillness—emphasizing the matte, tactile finish and the gentle way it catches a soft, diffused glow. It’s a study in how “less” can truly become “more” when you pay attention to the subtle details of form and shadow.
The Technical Touch:
Achieving this level of realism required us to dive deep into Subsurface Scattering (SSS), giving the material that characteristic “soft” look where light feels like it’s glowing from within the object. We moved away from harsh shadows to create a seamless transition between the product and its environment, ensuring the atmosphere felt as clean and refreshing as the product itself. At NEX Project, we believe that even the smallest items deserve a grand visual narrative, and this piece is a testament to our obsession with material perfection.
